Missions Trip 2025 – June 21 Update

It is Great to be in Albania

David with 9 year old Roel

While visiting families whose children are part of our programs, Elona introduced us to 9-year-old Roel. She asked Valbona and I to visit him personally — a young orphan with a deeply moving story.

When Roel was just one year old, his mother, abandoned by her husband, was diagnosed with cancer. Raised by his aunt, who he now lovingly calls “Mom,” Roel spent the next three years visiting his mother daily in the hospital. She passed away when he was only four.

There’s so much more to this story, which we’ll share in an upcoming newsletter or update. But what we can say now is this: due to many difficult and heartbreaking circumstances, their living conditions are incredibly poor, worse than what most would consider fit for animals.

This week, rather than waiting for them to come pick up food bags, we delivered the items directly to them, along with a bag of gently used clothing. The joy and gratitude on their faces was priceless.

It’s a blessing to share God’s love in such practical, tangible ways.
If you’re in Albania, I invite you to join us at one of the two churches where I’ll be preaching tomorrow.

God bless,
David
